The DxO OpticsPro 11 can be had for free until the 30th of November

Wonder if it would accept one of the temporary email from a temp email site.

Nice program, playing with it now. Would like to see what it does against DPP and ARC.

Basic conversion quality is very close to DPP.
Better in DxO are especially Selective tone controls, Color accentuation (Vibrancy & Saturation) and Chromatic aberration correction.
Version 9 Elite, gifted in January, also offers a Moire correction tool.
Better in DPP are White balance adjustment, Digital Lens Optimizer, Work color space evaluation, Sharpness (the old one), AF points display.
My view, of course.
Haven't compared Noise reduction as I still use old Noiseware on the finished tiff (not often, since 5D3).

For a user who does not currently use DxO OpticsPro and who did not follow what happened in January, can you be a bit less obtuse and elaborate just a little for those of us with thicker skulls about what happens, say 3 months from now with v11?!

You have to submit your email address and download the installer by November 30th, 2017, but the license you get by email response is perpetual and the program itself is neither time- nor feature-limited in any way.
It looks that you actually get exactly the same thing that on the DxO Buy page you can currently buy for $129 (except it's not upgradeable from the free license). The free download seems to be a time-limited gift courtesy of Practical Photography.

So do you think they are giving away the v11 now, with the hopes that you want/have to buy v12 and will pay for it?
And all this 'courtesy of' a now-defunct magazine?!

Preliminary findings...
I clicked the link for the free v11, got an email with the activation code and link to the software, followed the link in the email and installed DxO OpticPro...absolutely NO REASON to go to the website's usual Buy page.
Having installed v11 and played with the Before/After examples loaded by default, I was sufficiently impressed with the results to want to continue to try to work with DxO Optic Pro. The workflow is not an obvious one, so I went in search of workflow instructions on the web. From that I immediately discover a significant shortcoming identified in the tutorial

• both programs have their own proprietary RAW file demosaicing and processing engines, and they are not compatible with each other. Indeed, the rendering of a RAW file in DxO OpticsPro will not be the same as in Lightroom, and vice-versa; further, this incompatibility applies as well to corrections. Specifically, if you change the blue of the sky in DxO OpticsPro, and then open the same RAW file in Lightroom, you will not see the DxO OpticsPro correction. Similarly, if you apply a black & white conversion in Lightroom, and you open the RAW file in DxO OpticsPro, all you will see is the original colored image.
  

• DxO OpticsPro: Correction and processing of RAW images.
  
• Lightroom: Management of images and metadata (i.e., cataloguing), sorting, image distribution (slideshows, web galleries, photo books), and printing. .
  

1. use the cataloging/data tools of LR,
   
2. then import the .CRW (with the LF data changes) into DxO,
   
3. make RAW image improvements with DxO and write the changed images as DNG,
   
4. import the DNG into LR (with the DxO image enhancements) and
   
5. make added image changes in LR
   
6. create slide shows for presentation to clients in LR, and/or Export files as JPG/TIFF for printing at outside commercial services
