A P-2 machine has the same mechanism as a P-1 shredder, except the strips are smaller in width. Smaller strips are more difficult to piece together, which provides for more secure data destruction. Still, the relatively thick shred size means that names, figures and phone numbers may still be legible without too much reconstruction. Cost Effective

Professional paper shredding and recycling services are more cost effective and secure than in-house paper shredding.

It can be expensive, not to mention a waste of resources, to have employees shredding paper and documents with cheap paper shredders. Think about what it costs to have one employee spend a combined total of one hour a month (a very realistic estimate) shredding paper. Now multiply those wages by the number of employees you have and you begin to see how a professional, mobile, secure paper shredding service can actually save you money every month.

Here are a few ways you save money by shredding and recycling:

  • You don't need to pay your employees to shred paper
  • Don't purchase shredding equipment and try keeping it working
  • It isn't necessary to remove paper clips and staples
  • There is no mess to clean up after shredding large volumes
  • You don't have to pay to dispose of the paper

Identity Theft

Shred 1 2 6 X 2

Identity theft is one of the worst crimes you can be a victim of. Fortunately, it is completely preventable. Your business has a responsibility to do its part. It is your job to protect the records of your customers, clients, associates, and employees by safeguarding their sensitive information.

Shred documents that contain names, addresses, Social Security numbers, credit card and bank account numbers, and so on. Shredding and recycling will permanently destroy the information, protect you, protect your employees, and protect your clients.

The Law

  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley covers the use of customer information by those in the financial industry (insurance, banks, mortgage companies, etc) All three laws provide for stiff penalties for any business found to be in violation. Imagine a fine of $125,000 dollars for letting just one social security number, address, or phone number fall into the wrong hands. Now stop imagining it – it's real! And the fine can be that much PER RECORD!
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Act outlines what type of information must be kept, for how long and who is responsible for ensuring the information is available and applies to public companies in the United States that are traded on US stock exchanges such as the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Go Green. We don't recycle just because it's the 'in' thing to do. We do it because it's the RIGHT thing to do.

Every 2000 pounds of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water. This represents a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution. 17 trees saved can absorb a total of 250 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year. Burning that same ton of paper would create 1500 pounds of carbon dioxide.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency? (EPA) has found that recycling causes 35% less water pollution and 74% less air pollution than making virgin paper. Knowing that we're making the planet a better place for future generations is our duty. Most importantly, it feels good.
