Crossover 19 Catalina
For Macintosh users, are LogiCola and EthiCola (Gensler's instructional programs for logic and ethics) compatible with the new Catalina operating system (MacOS 10.15)?

My programs should run fine on Catalina if and when when the free WINE.APP program from http://winebottler.kronenberg.org is updated to work with CATALINA. Keep checking this link, and you may find a WINE.APP program compatible with CATALINA. Then, in your APPLICATIONS folder, remove the old WINE.APP (if you installed it) and instead install the new WINE.APP. Then the current versions of LogiCola or EthiCola should work. The author of the Web site mentioned above (Mike Kronenberg) is working on the updated WINE.APP program, but I don't know if or when it will be ready. (Recently the download page doesn't even load, so maybe he's given up on the project.)Crossover 19 Catalina
You may be able to fix the problem now by using either of these two commercial programs (not free):
- CROSSOVER version 19 for Mac from https://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover-mac should run my programs and other Windows programs on recent Macs, including Macs running the Catalina operating system. There's a 14-day free trial version and the cheapest install is $39.95 (or perhaps $25.97 if you use 'CX64BIT' as a promo code). This solution is simpler since it doesn't require installing a copy of Windows on your Mac. (However, I tried it on my old Mac and I couldn't get it to run my LogiCola or EthiCola programs; if you have better luck with it, e-mail me to hgensler@luc.edu and tell me how you got it to work.)
- Or install PARALLELS (https://www.parallels.com/products/desktop for $79.99, with a free 14-day trial, Loyola students can get it for $39.99) plus a legal copy of Windows (which Loyola students can get for free). PARALLELS DESKTOP 15 claims to be able to run Windows programs on the Macintosh using the Catalina operating system.
