You should try to upgrade another mac to OSX 10.11 El Capitan and buy OSX Server for that OS. Or Sierra for that matter.
That way, you purchased macOS Server.app 5 officially which should give you the right to download to an earlier version once you are booted into your Yosemite Server and go to the AppStore to download the server.app.
I have done plenty of upgrades where the AppStore sees you are entitled to server version 5, but the OSX version is not compatible. It should then show you a warning that this new version is not compatible and the latest compatible version is being downloaded.
This specific route has worked for me, but you need to purchase the latest and greatest available version of the server.app so you are eligible for older version that way.
